This work draws its distant inspiration from the East Frieze of the Pergamon Altar, where Zeus battles the giant Porphyrion in eternal struggle. Yet here, that ancient narrative dissolves into something far more elusive. What might be a torso, a face, or grasping hands materializes for mere moments before the flow carries it away, leaving only the suggestion of divine combat frozen in perpetual incompletion. The stone appears to consume itself, each form both emerging from and returning to the undifferentiated mass, creating a visual meditation on how mythologies persist and dissolve in the endless motion of cultural memory.
